Venus Optics Laowa Probe Zoom 15-35mm T12 Lens (35° Direct View, PL)
Unlock perspectives impossible with conventional optics. The Laowa Probe Zoom 15-35 mm T12 marries ultra-wide 15 mm coverage with 2.3 × macro reproduction, revealing textures from 5 mm in front of the glass while still framing the surrounding set at up to 110.5 °. Its constant T12 aperture keeps exposure intact across the entire 15-35 mm sweep, ensuring consistent transmission for motion-control passes and VFX composites.
Inside the slender 32 mm-diameter probe sit 37 elements / 26 groups of low-dispersion glass that hold sharpness edge-to-edge, even on 8K full-frame sensors. The parfocal zoom module maintains tack focus while racking, and a 9-blade iris (T12-T40) renders circular bokeh for product glints and wildlife close-ups. Chromatic shift is minimised, enabling clean keying on tabletop greenscreen shoots.
A 35 ° offset front barrel lets operators skim across surfaces or peer upward without pitching the camera – perfect for dollies under kitchenware or high-angle reveals through foliage. The 539 mm waterproof tube (IP-rated sealing) dives safely into aquariums, syrups or soil, while 360 ° front rotation aligns its horizon in-shot. Integrated 0.8 MOD gears on focus (90 ° throw), zoom (100 °) and iris (27.5 °) interface seamlessly with cine motors and FIZ systems.
Native ARRI PL mount ensures rigidity on broadcast and cinema rigs; optional bayonets convert to RF, EF, E, Z or L for multi-camera studios. Weighing only 1.4 kg, the lens balances on sliders, cobras or FPV drones, adding zero electronic overhead. Whether tunnelling through pastries, tracking micro-fauna or staging dramatic beverage pours, the Laowa Probe Zoom Macro Cine Lens expands creative vocabulary while ticking every professional checklist: full-frame circle, repeatable marks, weather sealing and field-serviceable shims.
